Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in New York, NY.
Work You'll Do
Assist clients to manage state tax liability and such challenges as states with unique tax laws, the enforcement focus of state departments of revenue, the growing number of audits, and increased merger and acquisition activity. Services include business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax, sales and use tax outsourcing, state income and franchise tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and individual clients. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Will commute within the New York, NY area to consult with clients regarding the above job duties.

Requirements
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
- Eighteen months as Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience applying federal, state, and local tax rules to corporate and individual clients.
- Experience must include eighteen months of:
- Utilizing tax tools and software, including CCH, LexisNexis, RIA CheckPoint, and Superform, to perform research on state tax matters;
- Executing complex multi-state tax issues, including building tax-effect schedules and writing correspondence for audit defense;
- Performing reverse audits to identify and prepare refund opportunities for companies in multi-state jurisdictions;
- Assisting with coordinating client engagement activities, including monitoring timelines and tracking deliverables;
- Analyzing and documenting the complexities around tax credit eligibility, performing credit calculations and evaluating entity structuring and deal terms for tax credit investments;
- Advising clients with respect to location strategy decisions, as well as credits and incentives related to hiring or investments;
- Communicating with project stakeholders, including internal parties and economic development representatives; and
- Mentoring and coaching junior staff.
- Less than 10% domestic travel outside of normal commuting distance.
- Salary: $77,700.00 - $144,300.00/year
