Position Summary
Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in San Diego, California.
Work You'll Do
Assist multinational clients with the development of tax-aligned compensation and employer compliance programs that address their global and domestic needs. Work with clients to streamline their programs, while managing tax effectiveness, risks, and costs. Manage internal resources and work directly with clients to provide international cross border and US multi state employer compliance and consulting services to multi-national clients. Possess the professionalism necessary for the effective diagnosis, solution, and implementation of client issues. Assist with the preparation and delivery of proposals for engagements and possess a working knowledge of the range of services offered by the organization. Review payroll instructions, conduct US tax law research, manage tax consulting projects, and assist in the administration of company tax programs. Supervise assignments by Tax Consultants and Seniors and provide them with leadership, counseling and career guidance. Oversee resource planning and work allocation to effectively staff projects. Address employer tax and other compliance issues and tax law including foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign tax compliance and the tax equalization process. Will commute within the San Diego, CA area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.

Requirements
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in any field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five years of experience as a Tax Manager or related occupation gaining domestic and global mobility and income tax advisory experience.
- Experience must include five years of:
- conducting benchmarking of mobility program data to assist with clients' global and domestic mobility program designs or re-designs at a country or global level;
- analyzing clients' demographic and employee location data to identify trends and potential inefficiencies using Excel and PowerPoint;
- working with HR and business leaders to align clients' mobility programs to their priorities and talent development goals;
- documenting processes concerning clients' mobile employee programs, specifically related to service initiations, tax compliance, and other employer compliance actions;
- creating client proposals and determining pricing for tax and advisory work;
- assisting with the delivery of strategy, design, and workforce transformation solutions, including employee experience, remote work compliance, program design, processing mapping, and organizational change management;
- utilizing data analytics tools to generate reports to reconcile employee location datasets to determine trends and identify employer compliance actions; and
- developing process maps and technology roadmaps to support mobility policies, and sourcing data to identify trends in remote and hybrid work policies.
- Experience must include one year of:
- assisting with resource planning and work allocation to effectively staff projects; and
- mentoring and coaching junior team members, developing and conducting training for global tax professionals, and providing career guidance.
- Less than 10% domestic travel outside normal commuting distance.
Other
Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week;
Annual Salary: $124,384.00 - $206,310.00/year.
