Tax Manager
Position Summary
Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in Dallas, Texas.
Work You'll Do
Assist clients with state tax matters, including challenges such as states with unique tax laws, the enforcement focus of state departments of revenue, the growing number of audits, and increased merger and acquisition activity. Services include business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax, sales and use tax outsourcing, state income and franchise tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and partnership clients. Responsible for the diagnosis, solution, development and implementation of clients' tax needs. Oversee client accounts through delivering all tax consulting services to the client and bringing in specialists when necessary. Oversee complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries. Participate in engagements requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues such as current and deferred tax liability issues. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for corporate and partnership clients. Supervise assignments by associates and senior associates. Responsible for the development and motivation of staff and for providing leadership, counseling and guidance.

Requirements
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as a Tax Manager or related occupation gaining experience preparing and reviewing tax returns, estimates, extensions, and provisions for corporations and partnerships in multistate jurisdictions.
Experience must include three (3) years of:
- Applying federal, state, and local tax rules to corporate clients and partnerships;
- Performing tax research utilizing tax software and tools, including ONESOURCE GoSystem, RIA CheckPoint, BNA, and CCH;
- Preparing state income and franchise tax returns for corporations and partnerships based on varying state regulations for the apportionment of income and nexus creating activities;
- Analyzing state issues, including state notices and audit responses, and utilizing internal review code regulations and related state provisions in order to prepare responses;
- Performing state taxation services, including state apportionment and modifications based on varying state regulations;
- Assisting with mediating between clients and state revenue departments to resolve state tax notices, audits, and other tax-related issues and inquiries;
- Interacting directly with senior management of the team and clients to discuss issue resolution and continuity; and
- Assisting with supervising the full lifecycle of engagements, including staffing, budgeting, and closing out projects.

Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week;
