Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in San Jose, CA.

Work You'll Do

Provide an integrated approach to process improvement that can help the tax department maximize its strategic value to the organization. Oversee the day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors. Oversee and deliver components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large companies. Oversee teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design (including scenario design and flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures. Provide input and guidance into the staffing process. Actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities. Provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices. Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients. Organize and lead pursuit teams. Participate in and lead aspects of the proposal development process. Contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Three years as Tax Manager or related occupation gaining experience reviewing business processes and technology to gather finance and direct tax requirements, including sales & use tax and excise tax, and preparing solution design documents to meet business requirements in finance and tax.
  • Experience must include three years of:
    • Performing tax package evaluation, solution design, development, implementation, system configuration and testing;
    • Designing business processes using MS Visio tools;
    • Drafting functional requirements and technical design documents to address configurations and enhancements for tax systems, and designing direct tax requirements in tax systems;
    • Drafting test scenarios for testing and resolving any defects;
    • Designing and reviewing test scripts and performing multiple testing types, including functionality, performance, integration, and user acceptance testing;
    • Gathering and documenting tax requirements for business and performing system fit and gap analysis and impact analysis;
    • Implementing tax solutions for sales & use tax and VAT, including requirements analysis, design of solution, configuration of system, and testing go-live, and developing solutions for supporting and implementing transaction tax tools, including OneSource;
    • Working with engagement teams on technology implementation projects focusing on sales & use tax and excise tax through all project phases, including blueprinting, identifying business requirements, functional design, configuration of software, process design, and testing; and
    • Mentoring and coaching junior staff.
  • Position requires approximately 40% domestic travel.
  • Salary: $137,030.00 - $184,210.00/yr.
