Position Summary
The Operational Planner will contribute as a pivotal member of the directorates planning team, supporting the synchronization of effects across operations, activities, and investments (OAIs) to achieve Theater Joint Maritime Component Commander (TJMCC), and client objectives. Working within a high-tempo environment, the planner will coordinate, assess, and enhance operational planning and execution efforts to enable staff actions, aligning capabilities with higher headquarters' goals. Strong familiarity with OPLAN/CONPLANs and the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP) is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Order and Concept Planning
- Develop and synchronize operational orders, campaign orders, and concept plans in support of both current and future joint and Marine Corps missions.
- Provide ad hoc analytical and subject matter expertise to support ongoing and emergent operations, including the drafting of Written Recommendations and Analysis for Specific Issues (WRASI), execution orders, briefs, and campaign order updates.
- Leverage the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP) to design analytical approaches to address competition, crisis, and contingency scenarios, translating guidance into actionable planning tasks.
2. Analytical and Planning Deliverables
- Conduct analytical research and prepare WRASI to support G-35 MAGTF planners, aiding in the implementation of the directorate Campaign Plan and Force Design 2030.
- Draft execution orders and prepare clear, concise briefs for higher headquarters, adjacent, and subordinate Marine Corps commands.
- Update and maintain campaign orders, ensuring continual refinement and assessment, and support blue force level planning for theater exercises such as PACIFIC FURY.
3. Synchronization and Effects Coordination
- Coordinate staff actions across operations, activities, and investments, ensuring alignment with broader client, TJMCC, Headquarters Marine Corps, and client directives.
- Support development and implementation of targeting processes to maximize operational effect and alignment with theater priorities.
- Incorporate MEF priorities into directorate staffing actions, ensuring they contribute effectively to overall mission objectives.
4. Leadership and Team Support
- Assist Operational Planning Team (OPT) leads in guiding cross-functional planning teams within MARFORPAC and across joint/interagency partners.
- Support the execution of complex planning efforts and staff synchronization activities, ensuring all stakeholders remain focused on commander's intent and shared goals.
5. Briefings and Communication
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive briefings to leadership at various command levels, synthesizing complex planning products into clear, decision-ready recommendations.
- Facilitate the communication of planning intentions across headquarters, subordinate, and partner commands.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Active Secret clearance
- 8+ years' experience in operational or contingency planning within DoD or a joint/interagency setting
- Direct involvement with OPLAN/CONPLANs, campaign order development, and joint/combined operational planning.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Ability to travel 15-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Preferred:
- Active TS/SCI preferred
- Master's degree preferred
- Extensive experience with the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP), Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES), and preparing operational orders/briefs
- Familiarity with client AOR and regional security dynamics
- Familiarity with regional security challenges, and key multinational/partner initiatives.
- Experience producing operational/strategic analytic reports and recommendations for senior leaders
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $144,600 to $241,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
