Work You'll Do

As a Consultant specializing in gas utility operations, you will help drive process excellence and operational improvements across construction, maintenance and capital program management for utilities. You will work on engagements in a team-based environment, partnering directly with Power, Utilities & Renewables clients, fellow Industry Solutions professionals, and Deloitte consultants from complementary disciplines. In this role, you will play a key role on the team, gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, developing actionable recommendations and leveraging strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills to support engagements. You will often help present your team's findings to senior client stakeholders and implement recommendations. Successful candidates will possess the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, validate sources for relevancy and accuracy, synthesize findings into logically structured and concise insights and analyze data to deliver insights.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify process improvements for gas utility operations - Assess current operational practices and drive measurable improvements in safety, efficiency, and compliance through Business Process Design.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for construction and maintenance work management, dependency management and third party management
  • Support workshops for scheduling, execution, and closeout of utility fieldwork and capital projects.
  • Design next generation dependency and prerequisite management leveraging AI and automation opportunities to ensure that all project dependencies and prerequisites are understood, planned, and delivered.
  • Automate key steps in third-party and contractor engagement - improving management of relationships, expectations, and performance of external contractors for utilities
  • Design GIS integration with work management to optimize operations utilizing geospatial knowledge

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree

• 2+ years' experience working with gas utilities clients or experience working within the gas utilities sector

• 2+ years' experience in gas utility operations, construction, maintenance or similar field.

• 2+ year' experience with GIS and/or Enterprise Asset Management/Work Management solutions

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel

• Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $$88,600 to $163,100.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
