Sr. TBM Analyst

General Purpose of the Job

The Sr Analyst, Tech Prod Analytics (Sr. TBM Analyst) is an integral member of the IT organization, leveraging the Apptio platform to drive financial transparency, optimize IT investments, and align technology spending with business objectives and key results. This individual will work closely with finance, product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide actionable insights through advanced analytics and reporting. The role requires strong technical expertise, an understanding of the product development lifecycle, TBM taxonomy and system configuration, and the ability to translate complex data into business insights.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and report on technology costs and investments
  • Utilize the Apptio platform to analyze and create detailed reports on product spend, budgets, forecasts, and cost allocations
  • Support the development of financial models and dashboards to track and optimize technology investments
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting and model accuracy
  • Lead or support key initiatives focused on cost optimization, financial transparency, and value delivery of IT investments
Data Analysis and Insights
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost optimization
  • Provide consulting and recommendations to technology and finance leaders on cost management, forecasting, and planning processes
  • Develop and automate reporting tools and dashboards that provide ongoing visibility into product metrics
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Finance, product managers, IT, and Business Leadership teams to ensure alignment on analytics requirements
  • Work closely with Product Operations to align DaVita's project management tool with Apptio reporting
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Apptio-related inquiries and training for internal teams
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the model and help streamline processes for data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Support the continuous improvement of cost optimization processes, model accuracy, and integration of Apptio tools
Apptio Platform Expertise
  • Maintain and configure Apptio modules, ensuring accurate data flow and functionality
  • Become a SME in Apptio and stay up to date on new features, modules, and best practices
  • Train and guide team members and stakeholders on Apptio functionalities and tools
Position Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in technology business management, IT finance, or a similar role, with hands-on experience using Apptio or other IT financial management tools.

Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis, cost allocation, and budgeting
  • Proficiency in Apptio or similar tools for IT cost management
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of IT financial management and technology cost structures
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with project management methodologies is a plus
  • Certifications: Apptio TBM certification (or similar) is a plus
  • Demonstrated success in effectively communicating and presenting information to senior leadership as well as the external community
  • TBM Taxonomy and Apptio configuration
Working Conditions:

• Hybrid work environment, with some in-office presence required

• Occasional travel may be required for stakeholder meetings or training
