GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Clinical Policy and Procedure Senior Manager position project manages the Clinical Policies and Procedures (P&P) work groups/subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and maintain clinical policies and procedures that meet all OSHA, CMS, AAMI, Federal, State and local regulations and requirements for DaVita's dialysis facilities. This position is responsible for the overall management of clinical P&P documents including drafts, current, & archives for all of DaVita Kidney Care's dialysis modalities and programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

  • Maintain current knowledge of medical research and clinical practice data to facilitate the development and ongoing review of related clinical policies and procedures to ensure that they remain current and are based on appropriate and safe clinical practice
    • Maintain applicable research data and background information to support developed policies and procedures
  • Project manage clinical P&P work groups, providing them with the necessary information for an effective review, and have overall responsibility of the draft documents and movement through the review and approval processes
  • Manage electronic copies of all current and archived policies and procedures; provide applicable clinical policies and procedures as needed for legal purposes
  • Organize, support, and/or lead Clinical Policy and Procedure Oversight Committee Meetings and provide appropriate follow up to persons requesting facility specific P&P.
  • Partner with and provide documents to designated teammates for creation of training materials including online courses and P&P training summaries
  • Obtain Risk and Compliance approval of Clinical Policy and Procedure prior to release to the field
  • Manage the availability of electronic and printed Clinical Policies and Procedures for DaVita teammates.
  • Partner with Operations and Clinical Education to facilitate training and implementation of new and revised clinical policies and procedures
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned including but not limited to:
    • Attend or lead team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed
    • Know, understand, and follow teammate guidance, employment policies, and department or company procedures
  • Travel required: up to 10%
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

(Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required)
  • Associated Degree in Nursing or higher from accredited school of nursing or three year diploma from accredited diploma program required, BSN preferred.
  • Current RN license in state of practice required
  • CNN or CDN required within one year of hire or position change
  • Minimum of four (4) years' nephrology nursing experience required
  • Experience in writing, updating, and maintaining clinical policies and procedures required
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical requirements can vary. These must be reviewed with management. However, in general, the position requires the following physical activities:
  • Ability to lift minimum of 2 pounds to a maximum of 20 pounds unassisted; able to sit for extended periods of time with some standing, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, lifting; moderate range of body motions.
  • Ability to hear and interact by phone and in person clearly and efficiently.
  • Ability to use computer and all peripherals for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Level III - Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

No required tasks involve greater exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues than would be encountered by a visitor. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids or other hazardous conditions. Normal hazards associated with business travel.

If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position.

New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $64,350.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $64,350.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $60,405.80/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $16.50/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $16.50/hour, Remainder of New York state: $15.50/hour

Washington Exempt: $77,968.80/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $17.66/hour, Burien: $21.16/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.29/hour, Renton: $20.90/hour, Seattle: $20.76/hour, Tukwila: $21.10/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $16.66/hour
