The Audit Project Manager oversees projects that address risk within financial and operational processes across the DaVita enterprise. Oversight includes:

  • Effectively managing team's overall project scope and activities through the three primary project phases of planning, fieldwork and reporting. Standard engagement project types include:
    • Assurance Engagement - Testing design and effectiveness of processes / internal controls in accordance with IIA (Institute for Internal Auditors) standards to inform the Audit Committee and Management on effectiveness of processes / controls.
    • Advisory Engagement - Providing support and recommendations to Management in updating processes / controls to better address risk or become more efficient in doing so.
    • Other Project Engagement - Includes direct assistance to external audit firm as well as other departments. Scope of responsibilities varies per project.
  • Proactively identify roadblocks or conflicts within engagement or partner (s) and resolves independently to ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Ensures quality of work products produced throughout the engagement.
  • The Audit Project Manager also develops and mentors those they oversee on an engagement.

1. Engagement Management: Accountable for direction and oversight of engagement phases through:
  • Assigning roles and responsibilities for team members based on skillsets and developmental areas. Performing or delegating work to be performed during each phase.
  • Establishing working relationship with business partners to facilitate engagement discussions and alleviate delays that may occur with meeting or documentation requests to the business.
  • Setting engagement objectives, scope and timelines after review of interviews and research conducted.
  • Providing updates to team and ERS leadership through written updates within electronic workpaper system and verbally on status update meetings.
  • Reviewing work completed by Staff or Seniors, providing coaching notes to correct errors or omissions in work reviewed.
  • Leading entrance conferences to communicate objectives, scope and timelines and informing business partners on preliminary findings through PowerPoint presentations, video conferencing or in-person communications.
  • Drafting final engagement report to ensure accuracy and alignment with work performed, evaluating risk of any identified findings, assessing the overall
  • potential impact to the Village and providing recommendations to business partners.
  • Working with business partners to obtain management action plans to address observations in the report, overseeing implementation and follow-up testing to validate completion by the business.
2. Supervisory responsibilities related to engagement projects including:
  • Providing project performance reviews.
  • Providing ongoing coaching and feedback to project team members.
  • Coordination of project team capacity and workload.
3. Internal Team Support:
  • Oversight and direction of team initiatives / objectives including committees covering topics such as event planning, special projects to develop future processes, performing quality assurance reviews of completed projects, supporting internal software and others initiatives.
  • Interviewing potential candidates and overseeing onboarding of new teammates.
4. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 4 to 6 years in assurance, internal audit, or consulting
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
REQUIRED SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint, experience with TeamMate+ is a plus
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with ability to probe, question, and listen attentively and to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization
  • Inquisitive and self-starter with a high degree of initiative, urgency, attention to detail, and follow through
  • Critical thinker with demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis, draw conclusions, solve problems, prepare and implement action plans, and lead improvement initiatives
PREFERRED SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with leading and overseeing remote teams and teammates
  • Healthcare experience
  • Public Accounting / Big 4 experience
  • Data analytics experience
  • Experience in international space, including anti-corruption audits. Language skills (Portuguese, German, Spanish) are a plus
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
  • Certified Internal Auditor or willingness to pursue
  • Certified Public Accountant or willingness to pursue
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor or willingness to pursue
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional or willingness to pursue
