As a Principal Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for the implementation of complex large-scale systems and solutions across multiple projects and implementation teams.
You will be responsible for ensuring that solutions align with the customer's functional and non-functional requirements as well as with best practices, architecture guidelines, and security and compliance regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic technical leadership, influencing technology strategy, and championing technology advancement.
- Drive innovation and research, stay informed on emerging technologies, and minimize technical debt.
- Define technical architecture and direction for enterprise-level projects, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Act as a thought leader, presenting complex ideas clearly and tailoring them to the audience.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent, oversee coaching and mentoring programs for budding engineers.
- Apply your expertise in cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD automation, and operational reliability to drive advancements in DaVita's technology platforms.
- Use experience with API platforms, microservices, event streaming systems, and DevOps practices to enhance DaVita's capabilities.
- Leverage proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, along with performance tuning techniques, to optimize data management and access.
- Apply deep understanding of design patterns, multithreading, memory management, and caching strategies to improve software performance and scalability.
- Build and lead operational teams that can monitor and provide robust 24x7 production support.
- Program planning, estimation, design, and implementation: Develops, documents, and tests software to ensure that the deliverables meet the needs of end-users and achieve business goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal IT partners and business stakeholders; this includes but is not limited to ongoing communications, presentations, and coordination.
- Ensure best practices in design, development, and adherence and oversee the technical aspects of all projects.
- Provide technical guidance, oversight, and standards adherence to engineering and development teams.
- Extensive experience (15+ years) in software development, architecture, and technical leadership.
- Proven track record of leading end-to-end software development projects, with expertise in the full application lifecycle.
- Deep technical knowledge in areas such as cloud computing, API management, microservices architecture, event streaming, and DevOps practices.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing budgets, leading teams, and establishing centers of excellence.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence technical strategy and mentor junior engineers.
- Bachelor's degree in technology related field is required. Master's degree preferred.

- Demonstrated strengths in organizational, attention-to-detail, follow-through, analytical, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
