General Purpose of the Job
The Manager, Project Management is responsible for leading program execution within a defined business lane, enabling Agile delivery teams to deliver value continuously in a Continuous Discovery and Delivery (CDD) environment. This role provides oversight and coordination across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with product and business goals while managing team capacity, dependencies, and risks.
Working closely with Product, IT, and Scrum Masters, the Manager supports cross-functional teams by fostering transparency, facilitating collaboration, and promoting outcome-focused, iterative delivery. The Manager also provides guidance and coaching to a team of Project Managers, helping to maintain lightweight governance, continuous improvement, and alignment across teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Agile Program Management and Execution
- Guide Agile delivery teams across a specific business lane to deliver value iteratively and consistently.
- Facilitate cross-team coordination, ensuring alignment to goals, roadmaps, and outcomes throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering to support continuous discovery and prioritize high-impact work.
- Enable effective program-level planning and tracking without introducing unnecessary overhead or process friction.
- Monitor delivery progress and surface risks, blockers, or cross-team dependencies early, enabling proactive resolution.
- Manage team-level capacity planning and allocation across multiple initiatives within the program lane.
- Match delivery leads (Project Managers) with initiatives that align with their strengths and development goals.
- Maintain visibility into team availability and ensure resource balancing to support sustainable delivery.
- Support the professional growth and performance of Project Managers by fostering a collaborative, outcome-driven culture.
- Champion lightweight, scalable practices that support Agile and CDD workflows - such as backlog refinement, incremental planning, and ongoing validation.
- Ensure teams follow consistent delivery frameworks that emphasize learning, experimentation, and rapid feedback.
- Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives, metrics, and feedback loops; help teams evolve how they plan and deliver over time.
- Support the adoption of tools and processes that enhance transparency, predictability, and collaboration without undermining agility.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to Project Managers, with opportunities to support resource development and contribute to team growth and performance planning.
- Act as a connector across Product, IT, and other business stakeholders to ensure delivery efforts remain aligned to strategy and evolving priorities.
- Partner with Scrum Masters to maintain shared understanding of team-level and program-level goals, risks, and delivery health.
- Facilitate transparency through regular status updates, lightweight reporting, and clear communication with leadership and stakeholders.
- Resolve delivery or capacity-related conflicts through collaboration, not escalation.
- Participate in or lead team meetings, planning sessions, and cross-functional working groups.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and department procedures.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the program and organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience leading Agile software delivery initiatives or programs, including coordinating multiple teams or managing project leads.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and experience working in or supporting a Continuous Discovery and Delivery (CDD) model.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional delivery in fast-paced, iterative environments.
- Proven ability to support Agile teams through effective coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience managing capacity, dependencies, and delivery progress across multiple teams or workstreams.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around shared goals.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of adapting quickly as priorities evolve.
- Master's degree in Business, Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience in healthcare, health tech, or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with scaled Agile delivery frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) and portfolio-level coordination practices.
- Experience with Agile planning and delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Targetprocess, Smartsheet, Planview, ServiceNow).
- Training or certification in Agile, Lean, or other continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., SAFe Agilist, ICP-ACC, Lean Six Sigma).
- Experience helping mature delivery practices or contributing to a PMO or delivery operations function
