Patient Care Technician responsibilities:

Before treatment, you will be responsible for setting up the hemodialysis machine and taking patient vitals (i.e., Blood pressure, weight, etc.). Next, you will cannulate patients (meaning inserting a needle in their access). We do use large needles (not your average shot needle). Monitoring patients continuously to ensure their safety against adverse events is imperative. This is when the blood is outside their body. At times you may encounter serious patient events - sometimes our patients pass out due to low blood pressure, sometimes there is bleeding, and occasionally heavy bleeding. These are situations where the team works together along with the Nurse to support our patients. After treatment, you will remove the patient from the dialysis machine and ensure the patient is stable before they leave the center.

Work schedule:

As a Patient Care Technician, you would be reporting between 4:45 am and 5:30 am and working 12-14 hour shifts and when working in the Administrative Assistant role, reporting time is 8:00a-4:30p and available to work Saturdays.
