- Supports the company's ability to achieve its financial and strategic goals through effective underwriting, including identifying, evaluating, and managing risk in order to maximize revenue, membership and earnings. Performs underwriting analysis and risk assessment for new and renewal of large group contracts and accountings. Assigns cases and books of business, funding arrangements and rating methodologies applying baseline experience and skill development.

What you will do
- Helps establish and implement results-based programs and innovative initiatives for the ULDP I area, under direct supervision.
- Completes simple business impact assessments based on forecasted changes within the ULDP I field to support the development of modification strategies.
- Prepares and delivers routine to moderately complex new business quotes and existing business renewals and accountings, assessing ongoing complexities of work as team technical skills progress and grow.
- Reviews work for accuracy, collaborating with mentors and managers to recommend pricing and accounting balance alternatives based on financial analysis, underwriting principals, and business strategy.
- Utilizes basic functionalities of key underwriting tools, systems, and reference materials to produce accurate quotes, renewals, and accountings.
- Progresses through product rotations in accordance with developmental plans, to successfully complete all required training and program activities.
- Takes direction to execute techniques, processes, and responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of collaboration and teamwork

Requisition Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Underwriting Leadership Development Program is a full-time, dynamic, 4.5 year rotational program designed to develop individuals entering the Underwriting field into future leaders. The program provides you with rotations across a variety of business units including Commercial, Government, International businesses, and other business units. The program allows you to:
- Price new and existing business with the goal of selling and retaining profitable customers
- Act as a strategic partner to support overall management of your book of business
- Work with internal partners in sales and account management to negotiate pricing, create benefit plan designs and cross sell additional products/programs in support of our customers
- Collaborate with actuarial to refine pricing based on changes in future medical costs, trends and customer specific data
- Participate in leadership development opportunities such as networking, solution-focused business projects and career coaching and feedback.

- Anticipated completion of bachelor's degree program by start date (June 2025) or equivalent experience

The typical pay range for this role is:$21.10 - $44.99This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
