An Infrastructure Technical Writer is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation related to IT infrastructure, cloud services, networking, and system architecture. They work closely with engineers, system administrators, and other technical teams to produce clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation. They ensure documentation meets regulatory compliance, cybersecurity standards, and operational best practices.Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain documentation for IT infrastructure, including cloud, networking, data centers and system administration.
- Create user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs) runbooks, and troubleshooting manuals.
- Develop FAQs, training materials, and knowledge base articles for IT teams and end-users
- Create diagrams and visuals using tools like Visio, Lucidchart or draw.io to illustrate infrastructure concepts.
- Document configurations, system designs, and best practices for IT teams
- Work with subject matter experts (SME's)to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation.
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, regulatory standards, and brand standards.
- Maintain version control and documentation repositories (e.g., ServiceNow, Confluence, SharePoint.)
- Collaborate with DevOps, cloud engineers, network engineers, and security teams to update documentation as systems evolve. Analyze usage and user feedback from knowledge base articles to evaluate usefulness to the documentation and update accordingly.
- Edit and proofread technical content to ensure clarity and consistency through peer reviews.
- Incorporate RAG/AI best practices into documentation to allow ease of discovery by users.
- Ensure documentation lifecycle management is applied to knowledge as it is published.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing, communications, IT governance and documentation standards.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with healthcare regulations and standards such as HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, etc.
- Assist with disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP) documentation.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to explain complex IT concepts in a clear concise manner.
- Knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), networking, and system administration
- Proficiency with documentation, communication, and IT tools such as Confluence, Teams, SharePoint, Slack, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Paint Shop Pro and Atlassian Jira.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaboration tools
- Ability to work with engineers and SMEs to gather information and validate content
- Understanding of ITIL, DevOps and cybersecurity best practices
- Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing or technical communications roles, with some process management and strategy experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Version control management, including creating and implementing new process.

The typical pay range for this role is:$46,988.00 - $102,000.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
