Staff Software Development Engineer

We are seeking a forward-thinking Systems Solution Design Engineer to lead the transformation of legacy systems into modern, modular, and containerized architectures. This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic vision, requiring a strong ability to adapt and enhance existing systems to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions that align with evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement end-to-end system solutions, emphasizing modularity, scalability, and maintainability.
- Lead efforts to refactor and modernize legacy systems into containerized microservices using platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Analyze business project requirements and translate them into system enhancements or new functionality within existing platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and integration strategies.
- Develop system documentation including architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and compliance reports.
- Conduct system-level testing, validation, and performance analysis.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, IEC, FAA).
- Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support proposal development and technical presentations for stakeholders and clients.
- 5+ years of experience in system design, integration, or solutions engineering.
- Proven experience in transforming monolithic or legacy systems into modular, containerized architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to enhance or modify existing systems based on business-driven requirements.
- Proficiency with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration strategies.
- Strong understanding of Hardware/Software integration, network protocols, and system validation.
- Experience with compliance standards and technical documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and cybersecurity principles.
- Knowledge of system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW).
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical reviews.
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:$118,450.00 - $236,900.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
