We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing scalable enterprise applications using Java Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will also contribute to solution architecture, mentor junior developers, and collaborate across teams to drive innovation and delivery excellence. This position requires proficiency in AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, Tabnine) to enhance productivity and code quality. Experience or interest in Generative AI integration is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure microservices using Java Spring Boot.
- Build responsive front-end components using Bootstrap and integrate with RESTful APIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, and Product to deliver high-quality software.
- Integrate Generative AI APIs or models into enterprise applications where applicable.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and manage deployments using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
- Monitor and optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
- Leverage AI coding tools to streamline development workflows and improve code quality.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers.
- Participate in code reviews, tech talks, and workshops to foster a culture of learning and collaboration.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development, including experience with DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, with strong understanding of Microservices architecture and cloud-native development.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Proficiency in Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript for front-end development.
- Familiarity with Generative AI concepts and integration of AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Hugging Face).
- Proficiency in using AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer).
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Knowledge of security best practices in enterprise applications.
- Experience with cloud platforms--GCP strongly preferred.
- Exposure to AI/ML model deployment or prompt engineering.
- Agile/Scrum experience.
- Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Adept at collaboration, execution, and continuous learning.

The typical pay range for this role is:$118,450.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
