We are seeking a SRE - Software Operations engineer with deep expertise in SRE, immaculate analytical and troubleshooting ability. This role demands a balance of strategic planning, hands-on engineering, and effective incident management to maintain high availability and business continuity. This role is instrumental in ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of CVS Health's next-generation platform to revolutionize the pharmacy system focusing on providing improved and better experience enabling customers to live their healthier life with cutting edge technology.Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical SME, with deep understanding of application architecture and database interactions, enabling effective troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues, troubleshoot incidents, and improve system reliability.
  • Conduct advanced data analysis to uncover critical business insights and assess the impact of product enhancements.
  • Drive the evolution of SRE practices, including defining and refining SLIs/SLOs, incident response protocols, and postmortem processes.
  • Implement and manage incident response workflows, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and continuous improvement through post-incident reviews.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, providing expert-level support during production incidents and driving rapid resolution.
  • Lookback activity for major production issues ensuring all open items are tracked and brought to closure with Short term and/or long term solutions.
  • Identify gaps in operations and automate task to bring operational excellence , reduce toil and accelerate TTD/TTR.
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience in software operations, observability, and incident management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of distributed systems, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of REST services with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on experience with observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Proficiency in languages (e.g., Java, SQL, Big Query, Postgres, React, ).
  • Strong analytical and communication abilities, with a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and driving operational excellence.
  • Passionate about solving complex problems using AI-driven approaches.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to evolving requirements and environments.
  • Capable of interpreting data and telemetry to support informed decision-making.
  • Domain experience in Retail and Healthcare sectors.
Technical Expertise:

  • 4+ Years of experience in IT operations, with significant responsibilities in system monitoring and troubleshooting enterprise applications.
  • 3+ Years in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
  • 3+ Years with incident/event management platforms (e.g., AppDynamics, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, SNOW).
  • Experience in managing service reliability platforms (e.g., xMatters, OpsGenie), configuring incident notifications, incident command workflows, and automating incident remediation workflows.
  • Experience with and knowledge of cloud environments, cloud monitoring platforms, and container orchestration tools (e.g.,GCP/GCM, Kubernetes,Rancher).
  • Experience with and passion for building re-usable framework which would serve as a base to build the operations across multiple platforms.
Education
  • Bachelor degree from accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

The typical pay range for this role is:$79,310.00 - $158,620.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
