Our Health Care Delivery department spans CVS MinuteClinic, Oak Street Health, RubiconMD, CSV Healthspire, and other CVS subsidiaries. As a Sr. Design Manager for a clinical platform team within CVS Health Care Delivery, you will oversee design for an industry-leading clinical operations and population health platform. This platform supports the delivery of high-quality care to diverse populations across our various subsidiaries. While technology built for healthcare is traditionally difficult to use, clerically burdensome, and impossible to navigate, CVS Health is working to restore joy to the practice of medicine by building solutions tailored to the needs of our Care Teams. You will advocate for a team of UI, UI and product designers, enabling them to perform at the highest level in our industry. You will use your collaboration skills to set the standards and processes to ensure that every product we develop 'wows' our users with its ingenuity, intuitiveness, and function. A key aspect of this role is the ability to manage multiple design projects that span across our various companies within the Health Care Delivery portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding people skills, acute attention to detail, and the ability to advocate for the design team's success. - Team Member Development: You will hold 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports to support their career development, making sure each have an individual growth plan to realize their full potential. In addition, you will find and enable development opportunities for team members.
- Team Advocacy: You will advocate for the design discipline and ensure design strategy is considered in every stage of each project.
- Hiring & Onboarding: You will grow the team by attracting and hiring talent and developing that talent for success.
- Project Management: You will prioritize projects, time, and tasks to meet deadlines for and/or with their direct reports. You will work with business partners to prioritize new features and customer experience improvements by advocating for the customer and providing user experience insights.
- Team Process Improvement: You will collaborate with Product and Engineering managers to establish and evolve the design practice and process for the greater UX/UI team.
- Project Metrics and Data Analytics Tracking: You will work with product management, engineering, and product ops organizations to measure product usage using UX metrics and seek alignment on how product roadmap capabilities will move the needle on the key metrics
- Design Documentation Quality: You will ensure team members document user experience solutions by reviewing presentations, user flows, wireframe specifications, visual comps, prototypes, and other necessary documentation to communicate the recommended user experience to stakeholders and development teams.
- Design Review: You will maintain design quality by leading review sessions with work partners (business stakeholders, and development teams), UX team, and leadership to share design direction and gather feedback
- Culture Establishment: You will ensure the design team is a great place to work through rituals, team-building activities, and encouraging positive feedback.
- Logistics: You will handle tasks such as acquiring technology, managing team travel, organize documentation
- Other duties as assigned
- 7+ years of experience in user experience design, user interface design, visual or graphic design, information architecture, interaction design, human factors, and other related UX/UI disciplines
- 3+ years of experience managing, leading, and mentoring UX teams
- Must have a strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., visual designs, graphic designs, wireframes, user flows, site maps, research, etc.)
- Experience working with senior business and technology partners
- Experience with all stages of the software development lifecycle in both traditional, waterfall and agile
- Familiarity with design and prototyping tools, such as Adobe Products and Figma
- Familiarity with translating business objectives into actionable roadmaps for design teams
- Experience managing and directing a cross-functional team on large-scale customer experience projects
- Demonstrated abilities in systems thinking; ability to step back and see a project's larger ecosystem, with a focus on solutions that improve not just one feature but the entire user experience
- Experience creating and managing detailed design documentation for developers and product managers and standards for teams to follow
- Active contributor in group brainstorms who is comfortable expressing ideas, either informally or in more formal presentations, both to peers and senior stakeholders
- Phenomenal written and verbal communication skills that inspire others and inject energy and enthusiasm into the organization
- Note: An online digital portfolio with at least 5 project case studies is required

The typical pay range for this role is:$106,605.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
