This is a 2yr. role that provides both work assignments and training opportunities to prepare GL to be promoted into a supervisor role.
Contributes support for departments and department supervisors. Coordinates department activities, workflow, and resources to achieve daily goals. Maintains accuracy and performance standards and ensures compliance with safe work practices.A GL is an extension of the DC Management team, and as such, fulfills the company purpose of helping people on their path to better health by driving DC execution and performance. Under the supervision of the department Manager and Supervisors, the GL will maintain an engaged, productive team through strong leadership, demonstrating initiative and leading by example.
The GL is responsible for supporting the department Manager and Supervisors in the total leadership and strategic operation of the DC, including:

- Overall department management, and supervision
- Employee staffing, training, and development
- Drive department goals, to include meeting customer needs and all department metrics.
Selection for the GL position does not guarantee promotion into a supervisor position. Whether and when a GL is promoted to Supervisor is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to performance and availability of Supervisor openings. Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Pre-SIT class.
- Willingness to apply for Supervisor positions as they become available, regardless of shift or department.
- Ability to work any shift and in any department.
- Ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Management
- Lead others and work effectively with department team
- Supervise, assign, and direct activities of the department associates.
- Effectively communicate information to team in an open and timely manner
- Support Manager and Supervisors as needed to ensure operation effectiveness.
- Utilize various reports, summaries, and procedures as necessary to resolve problems that associates may encounter in their job function.
- Cognos, Reddwerks, WMS, SOM Monitoring.
- Assign associates to work areas within the department to achieve a balanced workload and meet operational metrics.
- Confer daily with department Manager and Supervisor to determine departmental staffing needs and assignments.
- Conduct audits (PUMPs, tray audits, stocker audits) as determined by Supervisor.
- Monitor sortation system.
- Delay sheet processing.
- Fill in for supervisor as needed.
- Ability to monitor inventory and adjust, as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Train and develop colleagues.
- Maintain attendance and performance records of associates.
- Ensure on-the-job safety of all employees.
Physical demands:
- Occasionally lift greater than 45 to 75 pounds.
- Occasionally bending, reaching, and stooping.
- Frequent walking, standing, and pulling.

The typical pay range for this role is:$17.00 - $34.15This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
