Senior Software Development Engineer

And we do it all with heart, each and every day.In this role as Senior Software Development Engineer, you will lead both full-time employees and contracted resources to execute project work within the IT organization at CVS Health. You will be responsible for designing, writing new code, enhancing existing code, and ensuring the deployment of IT Retail Applications, client integrations, and AI Ops applications and platforms. Your focus will be on ensuring that project initiatives and guidelines meet both internal and client requirements while being delivered on time.

You will cultivate an environment that empowers teams and supports the development of team members, enabling everyone to deliver their best work.

You will communicate design approaches and collaborate across teams to explore integration options. Additionally, you will train new technology leaders and developers on best practices for building resilient applications.Responsibilities include:

  • Identify opportunities for technology improvements, improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness, and innovative solutions to help achieve business benefits through technology.
  • Collaborate with leadership and business teams to gather requirements and implement them based on priority.
  • Assist in onboarding new teams and members to existing applications.
  • Proactively work to reduce costs and improve productivity through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create, implement, and ensure adherence to measures for successful execution, including solution development standards, policies, processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Ensure the team diligently creates comprehensive solution documentation for future development tasks and training.
  • Research existing technology solutions for appropriateness and potential reuse.
  • Influence stakeholders across both business and technology domains.
  • Document process findings, risks, and recommendations.
  • Drive consensus and mediate business demands within architecture in collaboration with business teams or partners.
  • Communicate technology opportunities, operational challenges, and structural issues through the combined lens of architecture, development, partnerships, and infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience working in mid to large onshore and offshore teams building applications or in SRE teams.
  • 5+ years of programming experience in Python, Java, or .NET.
  • 4+ years of experience with back-end technologies such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or NoSQL.
  • 3+ of experience in handling high volume of data in any DBs.
  • 3+ years of experience in architecting software solutions and APIs in Python, Java, or .NET.
  • 2+ years of experience with front-end technologies such as Angular or Vue, and creating/consuming APIs in Python, Java, or .NET.

  • Experience pr proficiency with ELK / Kafka / Similar platforms would be a Plus.
  • Proficiency with Cloud Azure/GCP, Open Shift & Kubernetes would be a plus
  • Proficiency with multiple DevSecOps tools like Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Nexus, Ansible, ADO Board, Rally, would be a plus.
  • Proficient with Agile methodology and automation mindset.
  • Experience in working with Vendors / driving vendors for project delivery.
Education:

The typical pay range for this role is:$83,430.00 - $166,860.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
