The Senior Software Development Engineer under general direction, will formulate and define system scope and objectives. In this role, the right candidate will devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.The Senior Software Development Engineer designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those procedures. The candidate will be competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of application systems analysis and programming activities. The Senior Software Development Engineer will regularly provide guidance and training to less-experienced programmers/analysts as well.As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will:

  • Independently design and/or code and may lead others in the development of cost-effective application and program solutions
  • Lead or act as chief technical contributor to translation of business requirements to technical specifications
  • Independently perform and assist other team members in providing ongoing system maintenance, research, problem resolution and on-call support tasks for existing systems
  • Perform or assist with integration and system testing, according to detailed test plans to ensure high-quality systems
  • With limited direction, support the implementation of systems into production, including integration of purchased solutions
  • Responsible for Code Asset Management for an application or set of applications. Supports and promotes the reuse of assets across the organization
  • Serve as team leader to direct technical activities, while also providing support for small and large highly complex projects that require increased skill across multiple technical environments and disciplines, that have system wide impact and that integrate across the organization
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience in application program development
  • 5+ years experience with Datastage Development
  • 3+ years experience with Java / J2EE technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of the business/functional requirements that apply to the applications supporting a sub-domain or domain as well as their relevant interfaces
  • Experience in a lead role acting as a subject matter expert for projects and/or service requests impacting an application or set of applications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience.)

The typical pay range for this role is:$101,970.00 - $203,940.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
