Senior Manager, Pharmaceutical Contracting

The Senior Manager will lead strategic pharmaceutical contracting initiatives, including the negotiation and management of select manufacturer agreements. This role will guide manufacturer strategy, account relationship development, and formulary cost optimization. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in formulary design and rebate modeling to drive measurable value across the organization.Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate pharmaceutical manufacturer bid proposals and model current and projected rates to recommend strategic formulary approaches.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with pharmaceutical manufacturers, ensuring compliance, tracking performance metrics, and resolving disputes.
- Collaborate with Finance to analyze market trends, pricing structures, and financial data to optimize contract terms and deliver cost savings.
- Provide strategic direction to account management and manufacturer negotiations to control drug and medical supply costs.
- Partner with internal teams-including Trade Strategy and Operations, Legal, and Finance -to align contracting strategies with organizational goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers and suppliers to foster innovation and partnership.
- Deliver ongoing recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and ensure alignment with enterprise objectives.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in PBM, healthcare delivery, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or contracting.
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in manipulating datasets using Microsoft Excel.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
- Demonstrated success in planning, execution, and delivery of complex initiatives.
- Business intelligence acumen with a strategic mindset.
- Ability to travel 10 - 20% as needed

- Bachelor's degree required/specialized training/relevant professional qualification. PharmD degree preferred.
The typical pay range for this role is:$67,900.00 - $199,144.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
