You have the flexibility to work both remotely and office within the United States.The mission of the Safety Surveillance & Collaboration (SS&C) team within CVS Healthspire Payor & Life Sciences Solutions, is to actively monitor the US public health in collaboration with Food and Drug Administration (FDA), academic institutions, and other health insurance companies. The SS&C team conducts descriptive research, medical chart review validations, and pragmatic research using the FDA Sentinel Common Data Model (SCDM), Sentinel and Distributed Research Network (DRN) tools, Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) CDM, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Initiative (PCORI) CDM, and Aetna's Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).In this Senior Data Scientist role, you will support extract-transform-load (ETL) activities including understanding of the data sources, research questions, and data quality assessment. You will acquire and analyze data and create large and complex analytic datasets to support Data Model refreshes by accessing various sources/systems. You will contribute to the maintenance and refreshment of the infrastructure required for running complex queries and generating insights to support business objectives. You will be expected to review results, identify quality issues, and perform root cause analysis as well as document findings and other Data Management Plan items. You will use SAS, SQL, Python, as the primary data management tools. You will work within a larger team and be required to collaborate with individuals in other time zones and locations.This position can be fully remote or hybrid and the ideal candidate will live in the Eastern or Central Time Zones.Responsibilities:

- Executing refresh of Data Models, reviewing quality reports, identifying, and fixing quality issues.
- Data creation, exchange and transformation of IIS files into Common Data Models.
- Maintaining Git for ETL's , Internal Repository refresh and space management.
- Execution and Quality Control on Distributed modular program.
- Proficient with multi-tasking.
- Must be self-directed.
- Be able to critical think through problems.
- 5+ years of experience with SAS programming.
- 3+ years of experience with healthcare claims data analysis.
- 3+ years of experience with extract-transform-load (ETL) data files.
- Experience in preparation and data management plan/documentation.
- Experience working with and integrating large datasets from multiple sources.
- Experience with the FDA on research initiatives and data driven projects.
- Experience in SQL, R, Google Cloud Platform, GitHub, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.

- Adapt and create with assistance production processes to automate routine data management tasks.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Master's degree Preferred.

The typical pay range for this role is:$101,970.00 - $203,940.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
