Exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician in the Specialty Pharmacy to excel in a complex, high impact picking role and positively impact the lives of others. As a Pharmacy Technician working in the backend of the Specialty Pharmacy, you would be responsible for all aspects of filling prescriptions and coordination of safe and effective drug distribution systems. A successful Picking Pharmacy Technician will need to be accurate and detail oriented while pulling the correct drug, strength and brand as indicated on each prescription label.
As a Pharmacy Technician in the backend you will be standing for the length of your shift. Good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with all levels of staff is also required. You will need to be able to do moderate lifting, bending and twisting as you select the necessary medication from the stock shelves. Packing boxes for shipment to patient will be included in your daily job duties. Assistance in inventory management to include receiving, putting away, cycle counts and other inventory help is required.Must be able to stand for the duration of shift(8-10 hours) with two 15min breaks and one 30min lunch. Must be able to repeatedly lift 5-10lb for the duration of the shift. Must be able to occasionally lift 30-50lb during a shift. (team lifting is an option)Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, selects, prepares and packages medications and supplies in preparation for shipment to patients. Performs record keeping functions. Assists in various inventory control processes.1.Selects, picks, packages and labels medications and ancillary supplies per prescriptions, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist in accordance with the CVS specialty guidelines and pharmacy laws.
2.Accurate counting of medications utilizing a manual process as well as any automated counting devices.
3.Exercise proper hands sanitization and hazardous medication handling practices.
4.Performs functions &/or responsibilities of an Operations Assistant as needed.
5.Responsible for preparing and/or restocking the filling station with medications and/or supplies as needed.
6.Responsible for cleaning for all pill counting devices/equipment and general working areas.
7. Assist with training for new employees
8. Performs other duties as assigned.Shift: Monday-Friday Daily rotating 8 hour shifts between 6:00am and 7:30pmRequired Qualifications
- Active Maryland Pharmacy Technician License
- Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician or 1 year experience as a technician or graduate of a pharmacy program.
- 3 months experience in a backend environment preferred.
- Must be able to stand for duration of shift (8-10 hours) two 15 min breaks and one 30 min lunch.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift 5-10 lbs. for duration of shift. Reaching and grasping objects at various levels is required.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift 5-10 lbs. for duration of shift. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30-50 lbs. during a shift (team lifting OK).

The typical pay range for this role is:$17.00 - $31.30This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
