The Lead Director, Software Development Engineering provides leadership and direction to the Medicaid Member & Enrollment Domain; oversees and directs the various teams responsible for building and maintaining products that support Member services and the Enrollment departments across Medicaid.
Create best-in-class solutions that integrate technology, information and business processes. They keep applications, systems, networks and processes up and running so employees, members, providers and plan sponsors stay connected with needed tools and information.
Provides a consistent, effective operating structure for IT projects through sound IT investment analysis. Oversees multiple, interdependent business-sponsored IT projects or programs that span one or more business units. Responsible for the success of the programs(s).
Drives the vision, goals, and overall strategy for software development projects, and oversees resource allocation and project assignments. Leads a team of software engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to help them achieve their goals and excel in their roles.
Helps coordinate the execution of software development projects by ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Assists team members with selecting the most appropriate technologies, frameworks, and architectures to facilitate the development of high-quality software solutions.
Communicates strategically with product management, quality assurance, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure the smooth integration and deployment of software systems.
Advises senior management and various stakeholders of project status, risks, and technical challenges.
Supports a culture of continuous improvement within the software development team, identifying process inefficiencies, exploring innovative solutions, and implementing industry best practices.
Applies advanced software development knowledge to drive innovation, deliver high-quality software solutions, and integrate industry-leading practices.
Verifies that software products adhere to security protocols and compliance standards, safeguarding sensitive data and protecting against potential cybersecurity threats.Required Qualifications:
- At least 10 years' experience in software development, including planning, implementation, and managing complex systems
- Must have 5-10 years in a leadership role overseeing technical teams and projects.
- 2+ years working with NET frameworks, such as ASP.NET, and Java frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
- 2+ years experience with web services (RESTful APIs) and related technologies like XML, XSLT, and schemas.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS & GCP.
- Preferably experienced in building cloud-native applications with one or more cloud providers.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, emerging tech, and relevant software/hardware is required.

- Experience with APIC, Mark Logic preferred.

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience. Masters preferred.Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
