Lead Data Engineer

We're seeking a Lead Data Engineer to drive the design, implementation, and optimization of data systems powering our mental well-being initiatives. This role will set technical direction, mentor a multidisciplinary team, and collaborate across engineering, product, and analytics to deliver high-impact solutions at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and platforms for large-scale, secure, and reliable analytics.
- Lead and mentor data engineers, software engineers, and QA colleagues, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Partner with product, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
- Champion best practices in data governance, quality, and security.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to advance our mental well-being mission.
- Contribute to the strategic vision for data engineering within the organization.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering,
- Proven expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, SQL/NoSQL, cloud platforms).
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
- Experience with data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, people-first mindset.
- Hands on experience in designing and building data engineering solutions in cloud environments (preferably GCP)
- Hands-on experience with multiple ML/AI Algorithms
- Familiarity with leveraging AI tools in support of SDLC.
- Experience in GCP (Big Query, GCS, Pub/Sub, DataProc, Airflow/Composer etc.) strongly preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, wellness, or regulated industries.
- Experience in a technical leadership role.
- Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and analytics.
- Passion for advancing mental well-being through technology.

Bachelor's DegreePay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:$118,450.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
