The CVS Health Ventures Controller is a highly analytical position on the Investment Operations and Strategy team. This individual will play a critical role in supporting crucial accounting and finance functions for our portfolio and prospective investments in collaboration with the CVSH Ventures leadership and our enterprise partners.As a key member of the team, the Controller will be responsible for preparation and delivery of periodic financial statements for CVSH Ventures Leadership and other stakeholders. He/she will develop processes to ensure all accounting entries, reports and disclosures comply with applicable government regulations, professional standards, and organization policies. This includes management of annual audit and tax processes, journal entries / intercompany transactions, and consolidation of financial accounts for various investment strategies for inclusion in internal and external financial statements. Additionally, the Controller will advise CVSH Ventures leadership on accounting treatment of investment activities and support diligence of prospective investments. This work will be conducted in close coordination with CVS Accounting and Finance teams and CVSH Ventures investment teams.The ideal candidate for this role thrives in a fast-paced, analytical environment and has the technical accounting / finance experience to fulfill the following job responsibilities:
- Record investment accounting entries, in coordination and with guidance from CVS Accounting teams
- Prepare annual financial and quarterly capital statements for applicable all fund vehicles
- Work with CVSH Ventures Leadership team to create annual budgets, in coordination with Finance teams, and track expenses
- Reconcile year-end entries
- Manage annual Audit and Tax processes
- Advise Ventures Leadership Team on accounting treatment and financial impact of prospective investment activities
- Support management reporting and analysis of portfolio
- Support portfolio valuation analyses, as needed
- Support financial and accounting diligence for prospective investments and portfolio companies, as needed

- CPA required
- 7+ years of Accounting/Finance professional experience
- Experience at a public accounting firm in client facing Audit, Tax or Financial Advisory capacity, or equivalent public company or investment fund Finance/Accounting role
- Solid understanding of GAAP and investment accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Experience at an investment firm or equivalent client service (e.g. venture capital, private equity, hedge fund, investment bank, wealth manager)
- Familiarity with CVS financial and accounting systems (SAP S4, Oracle, Investran etc.)
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills preferred
Bachelor's degree or higherPay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:$82,940.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
