Community Outreach Coordinator (Shreveport, Louisiana)

The Community Outreach Coordinator develops, facilitates, and implements outreach activities, special events, programs, and presentations that support member education and health plan awareness within the Medicaid or Medicare population and the community. This person develops and maintains relationships with community organizations, while also maintaining marketing guideline compliance with the appropriate state's laws and regulations.

What you will do:

• Ensures required documentation is in place for membership, leader-driven activities, and events.
• Manages on-site event staffing, and handles any problems or emergencies that may arise, serving as the primary contact for sponsors and event providers.
• Coordinates event logistics including reserving space, catering, communications, distributing materials, facilities support, and setup/breakdown for the event.
• Creates and maintains a calendar based around community events, in order to assist the department with community and member awareness.
• Seeks out and secures event sponsorship by building and maintaining relationships with community contacts.
• Prepares formal presentations for potential sponsors and members.
• Conducts new member orientations and leads engagement events and activities.

• 3-5 years of experience with community outreach and/or event planning.
• 3-5 years of previous Medicaid experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must reside in Shreveport, Louisiana.
• Ability to work from 8am-5pm Eastern Standard Time, as well as to be regularly flexible beyond core hours, specifically on evenings and weekends.
• Ability to travel 75% of the time within Shreveport, Monroe, and surrounding parishes (within Louisiana), sometimes overnight, as well as throughout the state as needed.

• Ability to work independently, including during travel.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (high school diploma + 4 years of relevant experience).
