Clinical Pharmacist -Pharmacy Expired Returns

And we do it all with heart, each and every day.Position SummaryUtilizes advanced clinical and operational expertise to manage retail store recall execution and support the RxTrade department as a clinical consultant. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practices to ensure patient safety and drive continuous improvement. Collaborates with cross-functional teams-including finance, legal, and pharmacy operations-to enhance recall processes and healthcare outcomes. Requires a PharmD and active pharmacist license; however, this role does not involve direct prescription dispensing. Primary responsibilities
- Lead the return process for expired medications by coordinating with reverse logistics, retail communications, and pharmacy operations.
- Partner with pharmaceutical manufacturers to manage recall invoicing, clarify recall details, and navigate complex fee structures.
- Analyze return trends with the Returns team and develop data-driven solutions to address patterns and inefficiencies.
- Maintain thorough documentation and records for all recall activities.
- Develop and uphold standardized procedures for recall execution across retail pharmacy locations.
- Collaborate with inventory and enterprise teams to mitigate return risks related to generic launches, market shifts, and industry changes.
- Oversee end-to-end recall processes for wholesale, retail, and patient-level recalls, ensuring timely and compliant execution.
- Provide training and guidance to pharmacy staff and enterprise teams to promote awareness and adherence to return protocols.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize recall and non-saleable return workflows, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct advanced data analysis to evaluate recall performance, identify trends, and support strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations to communicate insights, influence decision-making, and align stakeholders.

- Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in good standing with no restrictions required.
- 2- 5 years as a pharmacist in retail setting
- Knowledge of phases of care transitions and resources available for patients.
- Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
- Adept at collaboration and teamwork
- Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
- Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate option.
- Ability to function in clinical setting with diverse cultural dynamics of clinical staff and patients.
- Mastery of digital literacy skills.

The typical pay range for this role is:$129,800.00 - $206,250.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
