  • This position can be in any Aetna office or hybrid. The candidate must be willing to work EST hours at least one week a month.
    • Support the process of setting large claim accruals for each monthly financial close based on the monthly accrual schedule and deliverables.
    • Leverage Excel VBA and SQL to summarize initial and final reserve estimates used to assess financial performance.
    • Dive deep into the data to derive answers to questions about case reserve estimates.
    • Support the communication with business partners in Claim Ops, Finance, and MEU to incorporate feedback into our case reserves.
    • Support periodic studies to improve our default estimates for case reserves as well as provider discounts to apply to billed large claims.
    • Ad-hoc valuation actuarial projects including and not limited to standardization and inclusion of Medicaid LCAD, analysis to develop more accurate large claim accruals, automation of LCAD, etc.

  • The ideal candidate is an actuarial student with the drive to learn and apply the latest actuarial techniques.
  • Must have passed a minimum of one actuarial exam and currently progressing toward attaining the ASA designation.
  • 1+ years of experience in a professional environment
  • 6+ months of experience in analytics or finance or equivalent experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft products in a work function with a high degree of proficiency in Excel
  • Demonstrates a high level of personal drive, technical acumen, and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines for the monthly financial close
  • Foundational technical, analytical, and communication skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • SQL and VBA coding skills along with model building experience
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Finance, or another related field preferred

The typical pay range for this role is:$61,800.00 - $135,960.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
