Lead the overall technical coordination of complex product development activities and solving complex analytical problems utilizing advanced quantitative approaches, analytical and technical skills. Integrate the requirements of interdisciplinary and cross-functional stakeholders of product development, including making key decisions that impact cost and delivery without sacrifice to the quality expectations of the Value Package Profile (VPP). Apply data science methodology to address intricate business challenges. Obtain input and negotiate with program leadership, product engineers and technology teams to deliver robust prototype and production designs, technical risk mitigation plans, and coordinate deliverables of new or current product change activity. Work extensively in the business and engineering processes of Product Preceding Technology (PPT), Value Package Introduction (VPI), and Current Product Support (CPS) using tools including Product Development Six Sigma (PDSS), iDFMEA, Voice of the Customer and Voice of Other Stakeholders (VOC/VOX), and project risk 9-box to support high quality decision making. Oversee the activities involved in developing complex products to respectively aligned hierarchies of requirements and technical profiles. Monitor and communicate across functional boundaries to meet project resource and quality expectations, and ensure product capability meets or exceeds expectations. Take mitigating actions when project risks are higher than expected and lead the full product life cycle process. Use knowledge of Product Function Modeling, Simulation and Analysis to impact product design decisions through the utilization and/or interpretation of computational tools and methods that predict the capability of a product's function relative to its system, sub-system and/or component level requirements. Translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements to which system designs are developed and establish acceptance criteria for the system of interest through analysis, allocation and negotiation as part of System Requirements Engineering. Establish and maintain the balances triangle of Scope, Schedule and Resources for projects as part of Project Management. Integrate all of the market and key customer needs of a given product platform into a comprehensive and holistic development plan. Solve highly complex product problems using the 7-Step Product Problem Solving Process to determine the assignable cause, implement robust, data-based solutions, and identify the systemic root causes to recommend actions to prevent problem reoccurrence. Coordinate the development of design verification and system validation plans to identify failure modes while managing risk and relative priority. Coach and mentor engineers, project managers and cross-functional team members. Produce recommendations with technical documentation to support product decisions.
