Education

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Current Enrollment: You must be a current student in high school or College or University with classwork geared toward STEM career.
  • Coursework: Basic or advanced courses in math, chemistry, and physics.

Experience

  • Contributes effectively toward team goals, supports the work group, and develops proficiency in areas critical to product optimization.
  • Simulation and Modelling Software : Learn data and design analysis with Windchill, Matlab and Excel.

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Summary/Posting Description

This school-to-work position utilizes the core competencies of math and chemistry to aid in analyzing data, drawing correct conclusions, and making data-based decisions.

Key areas of focus will be in reducing costs of aftertreatments systems and associated aftertreatment components. Material selections, design modifications, and improved manufacturing methods will all be explored.

2-3 core responsibilities or activities unique to role

Investigates opportunities across product portfolios that are related to reducing aftertreatment costs and demonstrate performance with the changes, and uses data to make best decisions, with guidance from more experienced team members. Can understand and use Engineering Standard Work (ESW), Functional Excellence Practice (FEP), and material standards.

Gains input from immediate stakeholders, such as team members, other engineers, and product/manufacturing engineers, and conveys that input to other key partners to support project decisions, and to provide input related to further analysis, design optimization, feasibility studies, or architecture definition, all with cost reductions in mind.

Develops technology and product knowledge; engages in finding new cost reduction ideas across systems and processes.

2-4 skill, education, or experience requirements needed for the role

Enrolled in STEM courses with the end goal of becoming a chemical or mechanical engineer

Contributes effectively toward team goals, supports the work group, and continues to develop proficiency in areas critical to success in the team.

Engaged in extracurricular activities which are technology focused such as competitive robotics

Involvement in community outreach such as volunteer work, or in improving the life of others

1-2 skill, education, or experience preferences that are nice to have but not required

Show an interest, and proficiency in, using spreadsheets, word processors, and file management

Good communication skills
