DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage category strategies for precision machining aligned with Total Value Performance (TVP).
  • Lead sourcing and procurement efforts to reduce cost, minimize supply chain risk, and foster supplier innovation.
  • Collaborate with Pre-M0 product/technology development teams to ensure procurement strategy supports early-stage development needs.
  • Build and manage a competitive, innovative supply base; act as the primary point of contact for supplier issue resolution.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts independently or as part of a team; oversee complex supplier selection processes.
  • Monitor supplier performance using key performance indicators, scorecards, and SRM processes.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional category, commodity, or project teams at business unit or corporate levels.
  • Ensure sourcing decisions account for total cost of ownership and supply chain impacts.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on procurement best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Safeguard Cummins intellectual property in supplier relationships and contracts.

Qualifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses as required for export controls or sanctions compliance (if applicable).

  • Cost and Value Management - Strong capability in applying TCO methodology and managing cost competitiveness while maintaining margins.

  • Supply Base Risk Management - Skilled in proactive risk identification and mitigation across the supply chain.

Experience

  • Familiarity with global supply chain structures and international supplier management.
