Note:- Although the role category specified in the GPP is Remote, the requirement is for Hybrid working model from Cummins Pune Office.
As a Software Engineer II at Cummins, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that meet business needs and customer expectations. You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment. This role involves working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, adopting modern development practices, and championing innovative solutions in alignment with Cummins' values and global objectives.

- Design, develop, modify, and implement software applications using modern technologies and frameworks.
- Analyze user requirements, system flow, data usage, and work processes to develop software solutions.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
- Develop and maintain documentation including flowcharts, layouts, system specifications, and application standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies by evaluating problems, analyzing solutions, and recommending improvements.
- Collaborate with users and stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver appropriate tools and solutions.
- Recommend and implement development tools, programming techniques, and best practices.
- Use CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and Agile development methodologies to enhance development efficiency and code quality.
- Support software applications through debugging, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to system architecture design and ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and non-functional requirements.
- Foster a culture of quality, agility, and collaboration while embracing open-source technologies and decentralized decision-making.
- Ensure information security and regulatory compliance through the use of industry-standard tools and practices.
- Maintain strong professional relationships and deliver business value by applying Business Relationship Management practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Skills and Competencies
Core Technical Skills
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
- Hands-on experience with modern frameworks and libraries such as React, Angular, Spring Boot, or .NET Core.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and Git version control.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred).
- Understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with security scanning tools such as Veracode is a plus.

- Familiarity with Agile Architecture, Agile Testing, and Agile Systems Thinking.
- Experience in modeling solutions and ensuring functional fit and regulatory compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
