Service Engineering Product Specialist

We are looking for a talented Senior Service Engineer Product Specialist to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Component Service Department in Eindhoven, Netherlands .

This role requires that the successful candidate be based heavily on-site at the customer to:

  • Work collaboratively with the customer, to identify, investigate and rectify field issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work with suppliers to support in-depth investigations of failed bought out finished parts.
  • Support other Components functions to mitigate impact and rectify quality spills.
  • Manage and maintain data input into both Components Service (CCIMS) and Customer failed part and warranty databases.
  • Work with Components Service and Customer warranty teams to agree technical and financial liability.
  • Be part of our global team, supporting VPI, working cross functionally to ensure products are serviceable, with all associated service literature, tools, service kits and training available at launch.
  • Collaborating with customers' own service teams: -
  • Developing and approving diagnostic and troubleshooting process(es).
  • Determining their requirements and ensuring all associated warranty administration processes are in place.
  • Working closely with our Current Product Support team, sharing knowledge and experience of upcoming launches, delivering training where necessary.
  • Work alongside VPI Service Engineers to support new product launches and infant care.
  • Support "Infant Care" for critical launch's, delivering rapid root cause analysis of failed components, and initiating subsequent corrective actions.
  • Completing "Emerging Issues" internal communications, and undertaking "Service Investigations", delivering Service Step-3 solutions where applicable.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an appropriate STEM field is required. A Master's degree relevant to this discipline may be required for select roles.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required, with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.

  • Channel Awareness: Ability to identify and understand the needs of global channel partners to support customers more effectively.
  • Value Package Introduction (VPI): awareness of the VPI process
  • Planning and Execution: Strong skills in establishing thorough, realistic plans and managing execution through structured tools, effective delegation, and follow-through.
  • Technical Customer Management: Ability to represent Cummins to customers, providing engineering data, documentation, and training, and managing product changes to ensure uninterrupted customer business.
