DESCRIPTION
As an Accountant at Cummins, you will be responsible for performing general accounting tasks to maintain the department's general ledger. You will analyze financial data, prepare reconciliations, and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards. This role requires strong expertise in month-end closing and fixed assets reporting, along with the ability to interpret financial trends and variances to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, record, and report accounting transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare general ledger entries and perform account reconciliations.
- Conduct financial analysis of the department's chart of accounts and financial statements.
- Respond to inquiries from management, internal/external auditors, and Sarbanes-Oxley audit teams.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect the organization's financial information.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other applicable financial regulations.
- Support month-end closing activities and fixed asset reporting processes.

Experience
- Minimum relevant professional experience in accounting or finance.
- Prior experience in corporate accounting, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Exposure to audit processes and financial reporting systems is desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus but not mandatory.
