We are looking for an RePower Program: Site Quality Engineer - Senior to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Seymour, IN location.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Drive Manufacturing Excellence Your knowledge of manufacturing processes will enable you to implement improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Influence Quality-Centric Decisions You'll bring stakeholders together, facilitate constructive dialogue, and ensure that quality remains a top priority in decision-making processes.
  • Lead with Advanced Quality Planning Through structured APQP processes, you'll proactively identify risks and ensure that products meet customer expectations from the start.
  • Solve Problems with Precision Leveraging data and root cause analysis, you'll resolve complex issues and mentor others in systematic problem-solving to prevent recurrence and protect the customer.
  • Harness Digital Quality Tools (Quality 4.0) By applying digital technologies like simulation, digital twins, and cloud-based systems, you'll modernize quality management and drive smarter, faster decisions.
  • Develop and Empower Talent You'll invest in people—coaching, mentoring, and creating opportunities for growth—while fostering a culture that values diverse perspectives and continuous learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strong Quality Systems Knowledge Understand and apply standards like IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, APQP, and PPAP to ensure compliance and long-term product quality.
  • Effective Problem Solving and Containment Leadership Lead containment and corrective action activities swiftly and systematically to protect the customer and resolve issues at the root cause.
  • Change Management Expertise Support or lead product and process changes (including VPI) by validating performance against key metrics and using data to guide decisions.
  • Audit Readiness and Execution Conduct and support internal and external quality audits to ensure systems are robust and continuously improving.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement and align on quality priorities.
  • Mentorship and Technical Coaching Serve as a go-to quality expert, mentoring less experienced team members and promoting best practices across the organization.
  • Proficiency in Quality Tools and Methodologies Apply AIAG core tools (FMEA, MSA, SPC, etc.), Lean principles, and structured problem-solving methods like 7-step or IQTM to drive improvements.
  • Safe Launch and VPI Support Lead or support Safe Launch initiatives to ensure new products meet quality expectations from day one, minimizing risk to the customer.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Demonstrated role competence is required. College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Intermediate level of experience required. Preferably 3-5 years' experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Program Management role in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry. Minimum of 2 years of related manufacturing or quality experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an engine Assembly Site Quality Engineering position. They will work alongside other Quality Team members for the first few months to get acquainted with their area of responsibility. This position will have daily interactions with cross functional assembly team members to ensure they have the problem solving, tools, and knowledge they need to be successful in this role. This position will be responsible for one of the engine assembly lines within SEP. The Assembly Quality Engineer will work to ensure they are leading quality system improvement activities. They will work cross functionally with other departments such as Operations, Safety, Manufacturing Engineers, Product E Engineers, and Materials to achieve plant quality targets. They need to have the ability to provide feedback, recognition, and corrective action when necessary. Enforce SEP policies and procedures - Lead by example and encourage the right behaviors.
  1. General knowledge of engine assembly and production test process within their assigned area
  2. Quality risk reduction - understanding of how to identify quality risks and hazards and uses quality tools to minimize customer impact
  3. Should learn how to use Minitab to analyses and resolve quality issues
  4. Public speaking with an emphasis on persuasion - Able to lead and participate in team problem solving exercises
  5. Root cause problem solving - able to use/ lead team in methods such as data analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, 5Y

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for this role is $8,000/month (subject to applicable withholdings), plus benefits such as health and wellness while in the returnship program.
