Strengthen Collaboration Across Functions : Engage proactively with engineering and other departments to refine concepts, resolve design issues early, and ensure fit and function in assemblies.

Advance Design Capabilities : Create and maintain master CAD models and utilize design analysis tools to verify design adequacy, directly contributing to better tooling and production outcomes.

Protect and Control Design Data : Utilize CAD data management tools to ensure secure and organized configuration control, supporting traceability and version accuracy.

Innovate Through Concept Development : Work closely with engineering to generate concept models and designs, playing a critical role in early-stage product innovation and feasibility assessments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role, you'll need the following skills, behaviors, and mindsets:

Create Computer Aided Design models that align with Cummins' standards and support system-level analyses such as DVA and FEA.

Apply deep understanding of mechanical systems to design reliable, innovative components that meet customer needs across all lifecycle stages.

Develop complete and accurate design specifications including models, BOMs, and drawings that conform to internal, industry, and international standards.

Manage product configurations and control design changes from concept through obsolescence using established change management processes.

Communicate clearly and effectively across functions and audiences to ensure alignment and understanding of design intent and decisions.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.
