Procurement and Supply Continuity Managers #IN1221
DESCRIPTION
Ensure linkage between procurement and manufacturing facilities. Responsible for continuity of supply by serving as a communications conduit between suppliers and manufacturing. Facilitate the supplier capacity assurance process, including providing capacity guidance to suppliers, analyzing and proposing potential solutions for capacity constraints, and facilitating allocation discussions if required. Manage procurement strategies aimed at minimizing risk, fostering innovation, and optimizing business processes. Foster communication among key procurement stakeholders across business units and functions. Lead the analysis of key trends and issues in supply for assigned products. Provide escalation point for quality issues and bridges between Supplier Quality and commercial Sourcing teams. Identify, plan, and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain to appropriately manage supplier performance. Apply principles of cross functional project management to establish and maintain the balance of scope, schedule, and resources. Focus on improving key plant metrics which are affected by procurement, such as downtime due to supplier issues, supplier defects, premium freight, supplier capacity, new product metrics. Provide delivery and expediting support to the plant or site during supplier issues, solve problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer, identify and analyze root causes, and recommend actions to prevent problem reoccurrence. Apply Procurement Ethics to avoid supplier engagement that may compromise supplier sourcing, selection, and management processes, and leverage tools to conduct procurement initiatives. Create contracts to cover commercial and legal relationship between Cummins and supplier. Incorporate commercial requirements and laws of regions, drive consensus amongst stakeholders and develops a mutually agreed and legally approved contract created using Contract Management and Negotiations Excellence Skills. Build strong supplier relationships and serve as primary contact for issue resolution with suppliers. Apply principles of supply base risk management to minimize supplier risk by proactively mitigating risks through use of risk analysis tools and risk mitigation playbook to manage three key risks including continuity of supply, reputational risk, and risk to margins of parts by minimizing disruption and services throughout the supply chain.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions require a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Logistics Management, Business Analytics or related field and 3 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer, Supply Chain or Sourcing Analyst or Planner, Procurement and Supply Continuity Specialist or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Logistics Management, Business Analytics or related field and 5 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer, Supply Chain or Sourcing Analyst or Planner, Procurement and Supply Continuity Specialist or related position. Experience to include: Supplier capacity assurance process; Procurement strategy management; Continuous improvement opportunities; Supplier performance management; Cross functional Project management; Root cause analysis and problem solving; Procurement Ethics; Contract Management and Negotiations Excellence Skills; Supply base risk management.
