Procurement and Supply Continuity Analyst

DESCRIPTION

The Procurement and Supply Continuity Analyst executes buying strategies in alignment with agreed material buying plans, with a focus on improving supplier performance, ensuring supply continuity, and building capacity ahead of demand. The role partners closely with sourcing, manufacturing, and supplier networks to deliver cost-effective, high-quality goods and services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the sourcing team to identify and drive supplier process improvements, maintaining high-quality product and service delivery.
  • Analyze procurement initiatives and processes to ensure delivery of cost-effective and high-quality materials.
  • Prepare and present recommendations on improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to senior procurement leaders.
  • Consistently apply sourcing policies, procedures, and processes in day-to-day activities.
  • Act as a communication bridge between Procurement and Manufacturing facilities to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Support order fulfillment by interacting with suppliers regarding payment issues and delivery schedules.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze supplier scorecard data to support supplier performance management.
  • Provide expediting and delivery support to plants/sites during supplier issues to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Support the management and execution of engineering releases and material planning.
  • Execute supplier capacity and risk management strategies to prevent disruptions and maintain compliance with procurement ethics and policies.

  • Negotiations Excellence: Uses tools and methods effectively in negotiations to achieve Cummins' stakeholder objectives and balanced contract terms.
  • Procurement Systems & Tools: Demonstrates proficiency with procurement applications (e.g., PO, payment, engineering release, and quality systems) and is capable of troubleshooting data issues, generating ad-hoc reports, and supporting system implementations.
  • Supplier Performance Management: Monitors, evaluates, and improves supplier performance through structured metrics, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Supplier Capacity & Contract Management: Ensures suppliers can meet Cummins' production and aftermarket demands while managing contractual performance and obligations.
  • Supply Base Risk Management: Identifies, analyzes, and mitigates supplier risks to ensure continuity of supply, margin protection, and reputation management.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Understands manufacturing processes to implement relevant procurement decisions effectively.
  • Data Analytics: Applies data analysis, visualization, and reporting to extract meaningful business insights that drive data-driven decisions.
  • Procurement Ethics & Compliance: Adheres to ethical sourcing practices and ensures that support Cummins' operational and strategic goals.

Experience and Technical Expertise:

  • Proficiency in Power BI and Advanced Excel for data-driven decision-making and reporting.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to new procurement tools and technologies.
  • Proven experience in supplier management, sourcing analytics, or supply continuity support.
  • Excellent English communication and stakeholder management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • This position may require licensing or compliance clearance related to export control or sanctions regulations.

  • Shift: Night Shift (5:00 PM to 2:00 AM IST)
