Power Generation Field Service Technician (Kelowna based)

DESCRIPTION

Cummins is looking for a Field service Power generation technician to support the Kelowna area.

In this role you will have the following impacts :

  • Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Anticipate and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Apply the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need :

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred) or Heavy duty mechanics certification
  • ASTTBC certification required for this role.
  • Current relevant electrical certification.
  • Locally valid driving permit is mandatory for this role.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Basic level field service work experience.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products.
  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience.
  • Customer service experience in a customer facing role.

About the role:

  • Preferred location Kelowna, British Columbia
  • This is a safety oriented position
  • Work shift : Monday to Friday-Daytime position (40 hours weekly)
  • Unionized environment
  • Hourly salary at 54.26$ as per current CBA
