DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Payroll Analyst to join our team specializing in Human Resources for our Payroll Department in Darlington, United Kingdom.
This is a temporary role with a 12-month fixed-term contract.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Ensure Accurate and Timely Payroll Processing: Administer payrolls across various European countries, ensuring all payments, taxes, and deductions are processed correctly and on time.
- Deliver Exceptional Customer Support: Respond to internal and external queries related to tax, social security, illness, and insurance, becoming a trusted point of contact for employees and stakeholders.
- Drive Compliance and Accuracy: Maintain compliance with internal controls and local payroll legislation, contributing to audit readiness and risk mitigation.
- Support Cross-Functional Projects: Participate in improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects to streamline payroll processes and enhance efficiency.
- Leverage Technology and Systems Expertise: Use your experience with Payroll, Time, and HR systems to manage data interfaces and ensure error-free uploads.
- Utilize Advanced Excel Skills: Apply pivot tables and complex formulas to analyze payroll data, support reporting, and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Maintain and Improve Documentation: Keep workflow and procedure manuals up to date, ensuring payroll processes are well-documented and scalable.
- Contribute to Year-End and Tax Processes: Support year-end activities including adjustments, tax filings, and statement reviews to ensure smooth closure and compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Payroll and Systems Expertise: Experience with European payrolls and familiarity with Payroll, Time, and HR systems will help you manage complex processes confidently.
- Technical and Analytical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and Word, including pivot tables and advanced formulas, is essential for data analysis and reporting accuracy.
- Strong Communication and Service Orientation: Clear communication and excellent customer service skills are key to resolving queries and building trust with stakeholders.
- Initiative and Team Collaboration: A proactive mindset, ability to meet tight deadlines, and willingness to contribute to team efforts and improvement projects will drive your success.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience:
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.
- Minimal level of relevant work experience required.
