DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Maintenance - Level II to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Whitakers, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensure Equipment Reliability : By troubleshooting, assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems, you'll keep equipment available and capable, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Promote Safety : Adhering to safety protocols and using appropriate personal protective equipment will help you prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment.
  • Enhance Quality : Applying high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship, and performing quality inspections will help maintain high-quality outputs and minimize defects.
  • Support Maintenance : Providing feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system and performing preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities will help reduce downtime and improve equipment longevity.
  • Coach and Mentor : Instructing and coaching less experienced team members will help build a knowledgeable and skilled workforce.
  • Improve Processes : Identifying and reducing manufacturing constraints, solving problems, and participating in continuous improvement activities will enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Environmental Stewardship : Recognizing how your work impacts the environment and working to minimize negative effects will contribute to sustainable operations.
  • Foster Teamwork : Communicating effectively with your team and participating in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives will help improve quality, safety, processes, and employee development.

Education:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

Applicant must join our apprenticeship program and go to school.

Maintaining and repairing equipment that range from the latest in technology to legacy equipment with some project and new installation.

Activities, welding, utilizing measurement tools, perform equipment alignment, disassemble, and rebuild pumps, cylinders and be very familiar with hand tools and safe usage.

Willingness to learn PLC logic and robotics.

Mechanical/electrical aptitude.

Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
