DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
We're seeking a safety-focused professional with a strong understanding of industrial risk management and a passion for protecting people and processes. In this role, you'll play a key part in evaluating new machinery through comprehensive risk assessments, including factory acceptance testing and commissioning. While certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CSME (Certified Safety Management Expert) are preferred, they're not required—we value hands-on experience and a proactive mindset just as much.
You'll bring deep knowledge of critical safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Working at Heights, Lifting and Rigging, Slip, Trip and Fall prevention, and Contractor Safety Management. Your expertise will help ensure that safety is embedded into every stage of operations, from equipment installation to day-to-day activities. In this role you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Champion Safety Culture: Actively promote a positive HSE culture by modeling safe behaviors and coaching others to do the same.
- Engage and Empower Teams: Ensure employees are involved in shaping HSE programs, policies, and procedures—because safety is a team effort.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Work with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and improve hazard prevention, risk controls, and corrective actions.
- Lead Daily HSE Operations: Support day-to-day HSE activities, helping to solve complex technical challenges and ensure smooth operations.
- Identify and Reduce Risk: Lead hazard and environmental aspect identification, risk assessments, and compliance gap analysis to uncover improvement opportunities.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Set and pursue ambitious targets for hazard prevention and control systems that reduce or eliminate risk.
- Educate and Communicate: Develop and deliver impactful training, skill-building sessions, and internal communications to strengthen HSE awareness and capabilities.
- Maintain Technical Excellence: Ensure all technical HSE content is current, well-documented, and compliant with data privacy regulations.
- Analyze and Act: Evaluate site HSE data, audit findings, and legal compliance to create data-driven improvement plans.
- Support Audits and Reviews: Contribute to annual HSE management system reviews and support audit readiness and execution.
- Coach and Develop Others: Mentor cross-functional teams and direct reports, using feedback and observation to foster growth.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Actively pursue professional development and stay informed on emerging HSE trends and best practices.

Training & Development
- Training Delivery: You design and deliver engaging training sessions that meet the needs of diverse learners, ensuring knowledge and skills are applied effectively on the job.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university, or equivalent degree required. Health, Safety and/or Environmental degree preferred. Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.
Experience:
- Intermediate level of experience required, including experience in application of Industrial Safety standards and implementation of risk controls. Minimal management experience preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
- CSP, CSME preferred but not required. Ability to assess new machinery as part of a comprehensive risk assessment, factory acceptance testing and commissioning process.
- Thorough understanding of Lockout/tagout, Working at Heights, Lifting and rigging slip trip and fall as well as contractor safety management programs.
