DESCRIPTION

Assists with the maintenance and repairs of plant equipment, buildings, and grounds. Monitors the functioning of building systems including electrical, HVAC, structural, mechanical, fire/life safety, etc. Leads project management and oversees contractors for moderately complex facilities renovation projects. Advises technicians and line workers on basic repairs and maintenance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Support and Maintenance:
  2. Support test cell emergency and preventative maintenance activities.
  3. Verify calibration and test equipment prior to test cell installation.
  4. Allocate work orders or requests from customers and ensure effective closing in Maximo.
  5. Cross-verify daily checks of equipment and utilities done by junior team members.
  6. Prepare and validate test cells as per customer requirements.
  7. Conduct training on technical topics and cascade information.
  8. Manage inventory of critical spares and plan capital equipment procurement.
  9. Maintain 5S across test cells, fabrication shop, and technical floors.
  10. Identify and execute downtime reduction projects to improve productivity.
  11. Lead facility equipment breakdowns and planned maintenance activities.
  12. Ensure timely closure of issues raised by internal customers and in data quality forums.
  13. Support test cell and engine certifications as per ISO and emissions legislations.
  14. Team and Customer Interaction:
  15. Set work priorities and types of work to be done.
  16. Attend daily morning huddle meetings.
  17. Guide technicians on test cell-related issues and daily checks.
  18. Communicate with customers/stakeholders for test requirements.
  19. Track and report laboratory performance measures and quality measures.
  20. Compile, communicate, and display quality measures.
  21. Track and report customer measures such as Right First Time, breakdown percentage, PM compliance, MTTR, and MTBF of equipment.
  22. Work with lab customers to understand technical measurement requirements.
  23. Ensure documented procedures are defined, implemented, and maintained.
  24. Plan training for reportees based on identified gaps and assess skill improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor of Mechanical/Automobile/Electrical Engineering with 8-10 years of experience OR
  • Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile/Electrical Engineering with 10-14 years of experience in the same field.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with test cell equipment including:
  • Dynamometer (AC/Hydraulic & Eddy current)
  • Coolant condition unit for mid-range and high horsepower engines
  • Engine air combustion equipment/ACS & charge air cooling system
  • Test cell utilities and systems
  • PLC knowledge (advantageous)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft tools including PowerPoint, Excel, and troubleshooting tools.
  • ISO9001:2015 & ISO17025:2017 internal auditor and documentation user-level
