DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Engine Workshop Technician to join our team, specialising in Service for our Distribution Business Unit in Langley, Berkshire, United Kingdom.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead complex engine diagnostics and repairs independently across Cummins products, ensuring high-quality service in both workshop and customer site settings.
- Coach and mentor junior technicians, sharing your expertise and reviewing repair plans to build team capability and confidence.
- Drive customer satisfaction by delivering timely, accurate, and customer-focused solutions using tools like Guidanz and ANVL.
- Ensure compliance and safety by modelling proactive health and safety behaviours and ensuring adherence to all HSE policies.
- Support cross-functional initiatives by contributing to local CIT projects and collaborating with other departments as needed.
- Maintain service excellence by following Cummins' Standard Repair Times (SRTs) and service documentation protocols.
- Champion continuous improvement by identifying and escalating technical issues and contributing to knowledge databases.
- Promote operational efficiency by maintaining a clean, organised workspace and ensuring tools are in proper working order.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Strong technical acumen in engine systems, diagnostics, and electronic service tools to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Effective communication skills to clearly convey technical information to customers and team members.
- Adaptability and initiative to handle diverse service environments and shifting priorities with confidence.
- Commitment to development through ongoing training and self-directed learning to stay current with Cummins technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Education: Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution; Apprentice Trained Engine Technician preferred.
- Licenses: Locally valid driving permit preferred.
- Experience: Advanced knowledge of engine products; experience coaching junior technicians is a plus.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
