Engine Workshop Technician

DESCRIPTION
Cummins is looking for an In-shop diesel technician to join our Distribution business in Edmonton, Alberta.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Applies documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
- Disassemble, inspect and clean engines and /or engine components.
- Assists with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Education, Licenses, Certifications: Heavy duty red seal certification Commercial transport is required for this role
- Valid local drivers license
Experience:
- Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
- Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians is considered an asset for this role.
- Experience with full chassis repairs: brake systems, A/C diagnostics, chassis electrical, transmission repairs.
About the role:
- You will complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under minimal supervision.
- Work will also include: full chassis work, diagnostics using software like Cummins's Insite, minor and major engine repairs.
- Union environment.
- Working hours are Monday-Friday 7am-330pm
- Current salary is 48.32$ hourly as per CBA
Compensation and Benefits
