Education/Experience:

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.

Regionally applicable certification or two year associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Summary:

This early- to mid-career, on-site role in Corporate Research & Technology group is open to candidates with power electronics background and eager to practice in power conversion technologies by sample-building, supporting and contributing in set up of testing and validation components, prototype and product of high-power DC-AC inverters and DC-DC converters for on-or off-road vehicles, microgrids, and wireless charging applications at our Fridley, MN facility.

Responsibility :

1) Follow guidance from experienced technicians in assembly, set up, troubleshooting, testing and documentation of test results for testing articles (genset, inverter, converter, sub-system, PE components etc.).

2) Lead the collection of prototype material. Fabrication and build of prototypes (including test fixtures) and validation of engineering drawings. Provide feedback on assembly to engineers/stakeholders.

3) Perform routine testing and collect testing data per approved test plan, review data to ensure quality before submitting results.

4) Build complex harnesses, modify, or repair printed circuit boards (PCBs) with surface-mount devices to large power modules.

5) Follow correct safety procedures, especially for DC voltage up to 3000V and high current up to 1000A ,i.e., tools, equipment, lifting, guards, and protective equipment. Work safely and ensure the safety of others in the work area.

Skill and education:

Minimum 2 year college power electronics or electronics related.

1) Follow guidance from experienced technicians in assembly, set up, troubleshooting, testing and documentation of test results for testing articles (genset, inverter, converter, sub-system, PE components etc.).

2) Lead the collection of prototype material. Fabrication and build of prototypes (including test fixtures) and validation of engineering drawings. Provide feedback on assembly to engineers/stakeholders.

3) Perform routine testing and collect testing data per approved test plan, review data to ensure quality before submitting results.

4) Build complex harnesses, modify, or repair printed circuit boards (PCBs) with surface-mount devices to large power modules.

Skill and education nice to have:

1) Working experience in electronics industry electrical system setup and PCB-level electronics is preferred.

2) Troubleshooting skills in basic electronics and semiconductors.

3) Ability to independently build subsystems such as inverters/converters and controls.
