DESCRIPTION

Manage and implement advanced analytics projects which solve complex analytical problems using quantitative approaches through a combination of analytical, mathematical, and technical skills. Develop applications for a Cloud-based environment and data extraction tools from variety of sources applying knowledge of big data technologies including Java, SQL query language and Azure cloud data services. Research, design, implement and validate cutting-edge algorithms to analyze diverse sources of data to achieve targeted outcomes by leveraging complex statistical and predictive modeling concepts, machine-learning approaches, clustering, and classification techniques. Liaise with business stakeholders and leverages knowledge to industrialize and monetize insights from advanced analytics projects. Utilize knowledge of Data Mining to extract insight from data by identifying relationships and patterns through use of a suite of data exploration and data visualization techniques to understand the underlying structure of the data and enable sound conclusions upon model building. Utilize knowledge of Strategic Roadmap Planning to produce a high-level, multi-year product and capability roadmap to communicate the organization's focus and priorities to internal and external stakeholders. Lead key objectives and business goals through the use of data science methodology. Leverage data science methodology to solve complex business problems. Lead Requirements Analysis to evaluate relationships and interdependencies between requirements based upon their complexity and value to the business in order to determine prioritization. Create algorithms using more complex statistical methodologies through the use of statistical programming languages and tools. Partner with domain experts to verify model capabilities and translate modeling outputs from statistical inferences into business language. Apply feature selection algorithms to models predicting outcomes of interest. Apply sampling techniques to determine groups to be surveyed or use complete enumeration methods. Identify relationships and trends or any factors that could affect the results of research. Identify solutions to business problems, such as budgeting, staffing, and marketing decisions, using the results of data analysis. Utilize Agile software development to design, develop and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of a design in order to manage advanced analytics projects that will lead to valuable insights. Coach less experienced engineers on the implementation of machine learning solutions utilizing data science tools and methodologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Positions require a Master's degree in Computer or Data Science, Business or Data Analytics, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, IT Consultant or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer or Data Science, Business or Data Analytics, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, IT Consultant or related position. Experience to include: Big data technologies including Java, SQL query language, Python and Azure cloud data services; Predictive Modeling; Data Mining; Strategic Roadmap Planning; Requirements Analysis; Statistical modeling; Solution design; Agile software development; Implementation of machine learning solutions utilizing data science tools and methodologies.
