DESCRIPTION
The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for preparing and delivering accurate, high-quality business intelligence (BI) analyses and reports to key stakeholders. This role involves gathering reporting requirements, performing data analysis, ensuring data quality, and using standardized dashboards to support decision-making. The analyst works closely with senior BI team members and business leaders to understand stakeholder needs, deliver actionable insights, and support the organization's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, document, and validate reporting requirements from stakeholders.
- Extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple enterprise sources (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, SAP HANA, APIs, Salesforce).
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and validity of analyses.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models, applying best practices in visualization and storytelling.
- Use advanced SQL for data manipulation, query optimization, and report automation.
- Integrate and analyze Salesforce data to create comprehensive performance and sales reports.
- Automate reporting workflows using Power Automate, Power Apps, or Python to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with Senior BI Analysts and BI Leaders to clarify requirements, align deliverables, and meet timelines.
- Communicate analytical findings clearly to diverse audiences, tailoring messages to stakeholder needs.
- Support data governance by identifying and correcting data quality issues.
- Apply statistical and analytical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Contribute to building and sustaining the Cummins leadership culture by demonstrating Cummins Leadership Behaviors.

Experience
- Required:
- 3-5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, analytics, or data engineering roles.
- Experience analyzing large datasets and delivering accurate, actionable insights.
- Experience connecting to and integrating multiple data sources.
- Preferred:
- Experience in a customer-focused or service-oriented organization.
- Experience automating reports using Power Automate, Power Apps, or Python.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field; or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of data analytics, data governance, and business intelligence concepts.
- Ability to translate business questions into analytical frameworks and data solutions.
